Post by barbaranoela »

If I didnt know I was going thru this I would imagine IT be a *nightmare* THAT i HAVENT WOKEN FROM!!!!

3 more weeks in the brace-----24/7---Xrays show OK----
NO Gallavanting around in the car!!!!!!
He will see me in 3 weeks again---and it go into a total of 9 weeks!!!
NOW this is what he suggest----AN INJECTION--given by a specialist in the fractured verterbre--he is located @ NYACK HOSPITAL((title of this DR. I dont know)

The injection is like SEALING the fracture with --I call it a cement mixture--which will FIRMLY seal the problem from falling into any other issues!!!!
remember the song :music: cement mixture--putty-putty :music:

I am going for an OPINION on FRIDAY cus if it isnt done NOW than after the period of 6 weeks---the damage is there - and always the possibility of ouch and ooching---AND i WANT TO BE MYSELF AGAIN!!!

Called GP--got an Xcellant OK about this----and NOW the TOE!!!!

YES, THE BIG TOE----I knew it wasnt looking as good as it had been---so I waddles down to the TOE MAN and looking pathetic--with my body brace and all---they pushed me into a room---
Yup---the nail is looking a wee greenish---which is telling him a slight infection---clips the toenail more---medicates it---and if this doest look better in a few weeks than the TOE-NAIL comes off!!!!!! :yikes: and  -
I have been thru my THUMB NAIL being removed due to infection and lemme tell U--it doesnt hurt BUT the stuff that U have to soak it in makes U COVER ya MOUTH so NO-ONE hears U YELL!!! XCEPT MR. LOUIE---Toe doctor highly praises this *injection method too--had to add!!!

And I thought today was going to be STAMPED A-OK--And Mr. L thinks I am NOT POSITIVE----BaH-HUMBUG
Then I get my mail and there is aXmas card--from a person I thought was a true FRIEND---does she ask how I am--or how are the kids--NO--she goes on braggin about her daughter who was voted 7th highest lawyer in the state of Chicago and if she were still here I would have told her where to go----in not so nice English--A friend who turned out to be nothing but a TAKER and a USER!!!

Well thats it------I am ??? well I dont know what I am!!!!!

Hi Barbara,

Here's a description of two methods that involve the use of cement to stabilize fractured vertebrae:

http://www.spine-health.com/topics/surg ... sty01.html

Apparently it's performed by specialists, because of the risk of cement leakage from the injection site. It sounds as though the procedure might bring immediate pain relief, if I read it correctly.

It sounds as though you have a pretty persistent fungus under that toenail. This obviously isn't the same as the problem you're having with your toe, but when I was in college, I picked up athlete's foot, presumably in one of the showers. I forget what OTC treatment I used, but it didn't work, so I went to the school nurse, (the school wasn't big enough to be able to afford a school doctor, I suppose. LOL). Two days later, I was on crutches, and barely able to walk, because my foot was all red, and swollen, and sore as hell. I don't remember what she put on it, but that was the first time that I discovered that I was allergic to a medication. The bad news is that after a doctor finally got my foot back down to a normal size, and the soreness was gone, I still had the athlete's foot fungus. Hahahahaha. I finally got rid of it by using a stronger OTC med, and throwing away all my old socks and shoes. After that, I no longer went barefoot on those college dorm and gym shower floors, either.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Sorry you didn't improve as much as you had hoped but at least there is help for your back. Imagine if it were before the days where they could do things like they can do today. You might be in a brace the rest of your life. That would really be awful!! Hang in there....you'll make it.

I hope the infection under the toenail will be gone after this treatment. Don't want you to have to have it removed.
