MY DH and I have decided to explore volunteering with CASA which ia a volunteer organization that helps foster kids as they are shuffled thru the court system. I have been thinking about this for a year but was fearful of having an episode of big D in court or somewhere!! But I am feeling much more confident that I am on the mend with Entocort and then with change in diet to cement the healing, can maybe join the world again!!! YIPEEE!!! I am so weary of focusing all my energy on what's wrong with me! So am stepping out
My DH is a retired banker and a great administrator and I am a retired marriage & Family therapist who specialized in Play Therapy with kids and adults , so I think we will make a great team.
That's all.....plus continued thanx for all your help and encouragement!

Good for you, and your husband. Yep, you should definitely make a great team for that project.

Thinking back, I believe that Alice mentioned that she is a CASA volunteer, so I looked up her post about that. It's post number seven in this topic:

Congratulations on making the choice to take on that responsibility, and best of luck in your endeavors.

Sunny,

Yes, I'm a CASA and have been one for over a year now. I really enjoy it. I'm interested in the fact that you were a play therapist. I think if I were to embark on a third career, it would be that. But I probably won't at this stage (I'm 61 and my husband is semi-retired, wants me to join him at some point); will just use my skills to help kids as a CASA.

Let me know when you start your CASA work and how you like it, etc.

Great work you will be doing and it is nice to see people step up and volunteer. When I retire, that is the thing Frank and I are looking at doing. Not sure what volunteer venue but something that would work for both of us.
