Avatar Info

Post by ILuvmyTT »

It appears currently that the only way to have an Avatar is if you can link to an image that is currently hosted on the web somewhere else.
Under your profile if you scroll all the way to the bottom you will see three options for displaying an Avatar...The first two are uploads and currently they don't appear to be working. Not sure if this is a setting that Wayne can change or what the deal is.
But the third option works great.....if you have the ability to host the picture somewhere. This is the option I am using and as you can see, my Avatar shows up. This needs to be entered as a complete URL such as.....

http://www.neutechcentral.com/avatars/rings.jpg

Now, Christine and I have our own web server and I have plenty of space to host such files. If anyone wants us to host an avatar for them please just email us the picture and we'll reply back with a URL that you can put in the "Link to Off Site Avatar" section.

Here are the rules for the picture...
It's size must be no bigger than 80x80 in pixel size.
The size of the file must be less than 6KB.

The best way to do this is with a .jpg file since they are smaller than .bmp's. And then using a program like Photoshop to resize it will help as well. It can be done with MS Paint which everyone should have but it's a bigger pain that way.
Christine and I can do some resizing and editing but would prefer not to as much as possible. We'll be able to get your avatar uploaded and in use a lot quicker if we don't have to modify it but if you don't have the means we can get it done.

Any questions feel free to send me an email or Private Message and I'll be glad to help.

Thanks Trent,

I plan to upload an avatar gallery that can be used, as soon I can find some time, (hopefullly this weekend).

If someone needs an image resized, I'll be happy to do that for them, in a few more days, (hopefully I won't be as busy then), and I can upload it into the gallary, after I get it resized.
