Baked Bar-B-Q Hamburgs

Post by Dee »

To a pound of ground round, beef, or chuck add:
1/4 c italian seasoned gluten & dairy & soy free bread crumbs
1 finely diced onion
1 egg
salt/pepper to taste
Mix this all together.
In another bowl mix:
1 c catsup
2 teaspoons mustard
2 teaspoons vinegar
1/4 c brown sugar
Take the ground meat mixture and shape the meat into 8 oval shape, but not as flattened as a hamburg.
Place those in a skillet that has been preheating on medium heat.
Brown them on both sides. After they are browned:
Place them in a casserole dish and cover with the sauce mixture.
Preheat Oven at 350.
Cover and bake covered for 45 minutes. Then take off cover and continue baking for another 15 minutes.
The sauce this makes is very good on top of mashed potatoes.
