Poor Charli had a dreadful experience yesterday. Robert had come upstairs late yesterday afternoon & closed both the back door & the screen door. I heard this thumping noise & Swartzie came in to me while I was doing something on the computer & she seemed agitated. She then started scratching at the back door & throwing herself against it. I thought that she must have just been desperate to go out as she does not like using the litter box so i opened the door & here was poor Charli scrunched up between the doors. Luckily there was enough room between the doors , about 3 inches, what she was not injured or anything but she was naturally quite upset. Robert did not realise that she was there when he closed the door & of course being as deaf as a doornail he did not hear anything.

Oh, I've done that to my cats before. Darn cats always in the way. When my old cat Cocoa (who's been gone now for about 3 years) was a kitten, she got herself in the refridgerator without my noticing! Could NOT figure out why my fridge was meowing! I thought she was under it or behind it. She was lucky, I decided to grab a drink while looking for her :)

Hahahahahahaha. Katy, that takes the cake. I've "rescued" cats from all sorts of places, but never from inside a refrigerator.

I'll bet those two consider you to be their hero, (well, heroine, actually), after that rescue. LOL.
Years ago, after an uncle and aunt got to be well up in age, with a lot of health problems that prevented them from getting out much, (including hearing problems), they spent most of their time during the day sitting in rocking chairs, surrounded by several cats, while reading, watching TV, or just relaxing. One afternoon, they could hear a cat squalling, almost constantly. They commented on it, with the usual remarks, such as "Wonder what's wrong with that durn cat?", and kept on rocking. Eventually, after it started getting on their nerves, my aunt interrupted her knitting long enough to glance around, and she noticed that one of the cats had it's tail under one of the rockers of my uncle's chair. Every time he would rock back, the cat would squall again. Hahahahahahaha. Talk about a lazy cat. My uncle had to move his rocking chair, to stop the squalling.

What great stories , Liz, Katy, and Tex!! Had to laugh....we have a cat that likes to hide under the throw rug by the back door...you can imagine the fun things that have happened with that old scrunched up rug!! The dog likes to scrunch it up to sleep on, and so it is often not laying flat anyway....so we have learned to "tread lightly" as we leave and enter thru that patio door!

Sunny my cats, especially Charli love to wrap themselves up in things & hide. It must be a cat thing. Charli used to climb up & hide right inside one of our recliner chairs. I could not believe it the first time I saw those little white legs disappearing from sight. She can't fit up there now that she has grown. When she was little we searched for 4 hours for her & I thought that she must have gotten outside somewhere. My neighbour even crawled under the house to see if she could see her. I felt inside a tiny space behind a record stand & found fur. She eventually appeared, yawning & not a bit worried about the anxiety she had caused.
