I pulled the plug on the computer without properly shutting it down because of a fierce storm.
When we plugged it in it gave us options for safe mode so I signed in that way. What do I do now?

Just restart windows, and when it gives you the startup menu options, choose to start it normally. If it balks, or doesn't want to operate correctly, (locks up, etc.), you may have to run chkdsk /f from a command line prompt, but you have to know a few tricks to do that. If it appears that you need to do that, let me know, and I post the steps on how to do that.

It's never a good idea to pull the plug on a windows machine, because it can result in disk damage, or scrambled directories or files. The damage can almost always be corrected with chkdsk, but occasionally, it won't boot at all, and the boot files, or the MBR, (Master Boot Record), may have to be restored. If you ever have to do that, I can tell you how to go about it, but you would have to have another computer to access the board, of course.

Windows sometimes automatically restores certain things in a forced shutdown situation such as that, and cookies can get scrambled that way, too. Since your browser asked you to enter your log-in information, that means that it should set a new cookie for the board, so that should be OK. If the board doesn't work correctly, though, clear the cookie cache, close the browser, and then reopen it and log onto the board again, so that it will set a new cookie.
