Update On The Production Acreage Of GMO Crops

Post by tex »

Hi All,

To give you an idea of how widespread the use of GMO Crops has become in the last 12 years since their introduction, look at the chart on this USDA site:

http://www.ers.usda.gov/Data/BiotechCrops/

For reference, the crop labels on the chart are prefaced by either "Ht", or "Bt". "Ht" means Herbicide- Tolerant, (tolerant to salt of glyphosate, commonly known as the chemical called Roundup, developed and sold by Monsanto Chemical Co.), and "Bt" means that the crop carries a strain of bacteria known as bacillis thuringus, which is a naturally occurring strain of bacteria that controls virtually any type of caterpillar that tries to feed on the plants.

As you can see, GMO crops have pretty much taken over in commercial production, (for better or for worse). Over 90 % of soybean acreage, for example, is now planted with GMO seed, and roughly 60 % of corn acreage is planted with either Ht or Bt corn seed, (or both).

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
