Kait coming home tonight

Post by barbaranoela »

AND---Lynn has been speaking with Austins mom and VERY INTERESTING!!!!

Appears that we all have been tolerating her rudeness--at times and other little *mouthing* due to her issues but Austins mom told Lynn --we know she has issues BUT Kait has been very rude---and I have had a very long talk with her!!!!! The main issue being that Kait has bitched about Lynn---sooooo Austin;s mom came down very hard on Kait and informed Kait that *in this house-or anywhere* that kinda talk is INAPPROPIATE-and TURN on your cell phone so that *mom* can talk with U!!!!! WOWEEEEEEEEE

Lynn---she said---*U have to get Kait into a group---she needs to learn some manners and realize that she cant use her illness to get away with mouthing off---

Lou and I have Xcused Kait's mouthing --to some Xtent--not realizing that we were allowing her to HAVE IT HER WAY ALL THE TIME!!!! Feeling badly if we corrected her MOUTH!!!!

Well this should be a very interesting ---HOME COMING!!!!

Till later=
keep a smile

Oh no.....I'm sure that Austin's mom has Kait's best interest at heart....I have a friend who has deveoped a very foul mouth...I think it has become a habit for him. At first, I didn't say anything, but now I remind him when his swearing is outta control. Maybe Kait wll be able to break this habit.

Hugs.....JJ

Hi Sis,

I know you have been concerned about this for some time. It is a situation where you have to walk that old tightrope. A question - what were Kait's social skills like before the health problems started? Was she always impulsive, curt, argumentative, etc., or is this new? It's also hard to tease out which behavior is organic (due to brain damage) and which is within her control.

I know there are programs available to teach kids social skills. Many youngsters need it (some with ADHD, autistic spectrum disorders, etc.). Do you think she realizes how she comes across to others? Perhaps she is just not getting that. Maybe someone could film some of her behavior and have her look at it objectively.

Anyway, I know that you and your family have just been devastated by all that has happened to that dear young lady. You are certainly not to blame for Kait's lack of social skills.

Love,

Sispolly
