Daughter not doing so well

Post by Wendy »

Hello Everyone,

Just before I was to leave this morning to go to my doctor appts. my daughter called, and I could tell something was wrong just by the sound of her voice. She started spotting yesterday and was hoping it would go away, and it hasn't yet. She was in to see her doctor, and basically there is nothing she can do but see how things go. She had the day off, so she was taking it easy and I told her I would call her later on after I was done downtown. Well when I couldn't reach her on her phone or on her cell I started panicking. Ended up calling the in-laws since they live close by,and finally found her visiting her sister-in-laws place, which is just across the street from her house. She said she is okay, just wanted to get out of the house and take her mind off things. I also found out that they have been trying to get pregnant for over a year now, and it only just happened because of taking fertility pills. So I am pretty worried about her, having been in that similar situation myself. It could be that she will be just one of those women that spot through out her pregnancy, I did when I was carrying her sister. I have heard of other women that have had that happen too. Anyway, it puts a damper on the excitement of becoming a gramma thinking that my first born little girl is going through this.

Guess we will just have to hope for the best.

Thats about all I have to say right now, always tired out when I come back from doctors, at least it didn't rain while I was out. They put freezing all over my body to help with the pain I have.

Anyway, I will check in later after I have rested some.

Gentle hugs
Wendy

Here's hoping for the best for your daughter Wendy. There are many reasons for spotting, and lots of them aren't terribly problematic. I hope that is the case here.

Good Luck to her.

Wendy,
I really hope she has stopped spotting by now and won't have any more trouble. I'm sorry.

Wendy-

It happended to me 2 times while I was pregnant - one time it was for 4 weeks - then stopped and baby was fine. The other time ended in a miscarriage. It is very stressful to "wait and see" but unfortunately it is all you can do

I will keep you guys in my thoughts and pray for the best. It is pretty common and doesn't necessarily mean bad news - think positive

I hope everything is ok Wendy. I'll be thinking of her and wishing her the best!

It's after 12 midnight and still haven't heard anything from her. I am just worried about her. I spotted when I was pregnant with my last baby, over 22 yrs ago now, just 2 hours after finding out I was pregnant, well that was more of a gush, thought for sure I lost the baby, having lost a boy at 16 weeks about 6 months prior. Spent the night in hospital, and found out I was still pregnant. Since we have so many twins, the doc's thought it could have been two sacs. But I always have kidded Mel that she grabbed onto my insides and hung on till she knew it was okay to come out. She was born a month or so earlier then expected, and was as strong as a horse. Even stronger then some babies born at the same time that weighed in around 12 lbs, which was more then double her size. She was under 6 pds, but would stand on my hand and push herself up on her feet. I have a picture of her doing that, wasn't much bigger then my arm either. And with her I had to wear pads the whole pregnancy and had lots more scares spending time in the hospital, and when she finally came she had no eyebrows or eyelashes and very little hair, and no fingernails or toenails, just soft spots, and she was so dry her skin was cracked and bleeding in some areas. It was a good thing I had her when I did, as their was no more amniotic fluids left by that time. I was on the phone with Amanda for about 2 hours just talking to her, and finally I figured that from the sound of her voice, that she should go and see a doctor. She kept telling me they were only coming from her right side, but she said they were coming and going, and it was then that I thought she should leave. So the mother in law lives close by and she went right over to take, as her hubby wouldn't be home from work till 8:45pm, and that was only around 7.

We have allot of problems with all this in our family. But she was cheered up when I told he all about carrying her sister, and other s things that might help. And having been there a couple of times myself I know that you can't change it, if that is what is happening. Then you try again.
If you can, that is.
And she can do that.

Well have to get some shut eye now, and will talk to you in the morning.

Gentle hugs
Wendy

Oh, gosh, Wendy. I hope it's like what happened to my daughter, Peg. Soon after she found out she was pregnant with Brice, she started spotting. I rushed over to her house in a panic and we called the birthing center and the nurse told us to realx, that it was probably nothing. HOW CAN YOU RELAX WHILE THAT IS GOING ON???? Well, it WAS nothing. It just sometimes happens. As you know, Brice is a big healthy 9 year-old now.

However, I totally understand your concern what with fertility drugs and all and just with being a grandma. I would be very nervous, too. I hope everything goes well and that we all get to be "Aunties" after a while.

Lots of love,

Sally
