Thank's to all my special friends (which are all of you)

Post by starfire »

Well, I finally felt stable enough to post this morning.

To those who sent sympathy cards made beautiful by your caring words, those who sent PM's, those who sent e-mails, those who responded to Tex's post about Bill's passing, those who offered prayers and/or good thoughts, the donation in Bill's name (you know who you are), and those who just cared..... I Thank You.

I can't imagine life without My Bill. Sure, we had our ups and downs but I've always loved him so much. We had over 47 years together, 2 children, 4 grandchildren. Nothing has ever hit me harder than this but the love, caring and respect expressed by our loved ones and friends has helped.

Bill was an "outside" person all his life. Loved hunting, fishing, etc. (he became too softhearted to hunt for a long time now). He loved wildlife and was so pleased that we get to see such a variety here.

The large black bear that I posted about visited again last Saturday. Our children, their spouses, my Mother & Sister were able to observe him. During the night he was killed by a car while crossing the main road near our home. Bill would have grieved if he had still been here.

I also want to thank you for the outstanding floral arrangement. I have it here at home and it is still looking fresh and beautiful. Bill loved flowers as well as wildlife and I know he would have taken a lot of pleasure from this one, as I have. A very special remembrance from my online family.

I am rambling on and I think I need to end this. Thank you all for being there for me. I know you were even though you didn't hear from me until now.

Love to All,
Shirley

Shirley,

It's great to see you posting again, and we appreciate your sharing some of your thoughts. I too, am an "outside" person, so I truly understand what you're saying, especially since I have also grown too "softhearted" to hunt, anymore, (except with a camera).

That story about the bear, (and it's subsequent demise), strikes me as almost eerie, and could be interpreted in a very symbolic way. It's almost as if the bear were destined to be with Bill, isn't it. It made it's final appearance, for all of you to see, before fulfilling it's destiny. In Native American symbology, the bear is the protector, and symbolizes physical strength and leadership. Those are all attributes that Bill possessed, of course.

Well, I must have gotten something in my eyes, because once again, the tears are rolling down my cheeks. I'm sure that eventually, I'll be able to respond to your posts without this big lump in my throat, but it will probably be a while. Maybe with all of us sharing your pain, it will fade away sooner.

Love,
Tex

Thanks Everyone,

That eye problem is still with me too. Whether a good memory or sad memory.... the eye problem doesn't make a distinction. I know time will help though.

I thought the bear incident was something special. I didn't know about the symbology you mentioned, Tex. That makes it even more special because Bill did have great strength to force himself to stay active and live as normal a life as possible. I don't think I realized just how much he pushed himself until he was gone.

I appreciate the fact that I can share things with my family here. It really means a lot.

Since this is our MC Board I will share that with just plain forgetting to take several doses of med plus the extreme stress I did have D one day for a few hours. I added a noon dose of Asacol and started remembering to take the rest so it didn't last too long. Stool still very soft but formed.

There, I have spoken about something else and I promise to do better after this.

Morning Shirley,

My heart and prayers continue to be with you and you are so loved here. I was going to post about the bear and Native American symbolism but I see Tex is just as well versed. Your protector will continue to be with you in spirit. I too hope Bill meets up with Robert.

Love, Maggie
