Question--about DETOXING ya INNERS
On TV--this morning--was a 1/2 hour talk about de-toxing ones body--of course using their product
Interesting cus they went into all the stuff we inhale---the stuff we eat and DONT pass out--thus --collecting and cramping up our colon---
1. bloating
2. gaseous
3. passing little turds--a NO-NO
4. straining --a BIGGER NO-NO
5. feeling TIRED---depressed--dis-interested with everything --
6. we should Xpel at least TWICE a day~~
7. and a zillion things that I could have been the person standing there while the Xpert pointed to the areas of the body that feel and look sluggish
8. the best was---Dr.s relating it to AGE!!!!!!
9. memory like --DUH
Just curious if anyone here has ever hecked out a de-toxing formula??
thanks
Barbara
to add---I know that some health stores will try and sell U anything too---been that route--asking a Question and before U can take a breath they selling U the whole damn store---

Barbara,
IMO, while the body doesn't always do a perfect job of flushing everything out as clean as a whistle, if very much of that stuff hung around for very long, it would tend to become infected, and eventually rot a hole through the gut wall, so I doubt that it's as big a problem as they claim it is, for most of us. Those guys always use John Wayne as an example, but John Wayne had cancer.
MC does a pretty good job of purging the gut, when it's active. If you want to clean the plumbing out right, though, (the way the professionals do), just drink a gallon of GoLytely. It will have your gut squeaky clean in just a few hours. I guarantee it, and I'll bet it's a lot cheaper than the treatment that they're selling, but I could be wrong, since I've never priced their treatment.
I'm not sure why they claim that twice a day is better than once a day, except that doing so implies that probably 95 % of the population has a problem, and should buy their product. If once a day was OK, not very many people would need their product, so that won't do at all. LOL. Frequency depends mostly on the amount of fiber in the diet, (unless some sort of natural laxative is involved, such as prunes, fruit containing sorbitol, or sweetcorn).

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Oh, I thought you were talking about a cleanout, you're just trying to get "regular".
I did puke after I drank GoLytely, but I managed to hold off until after the exam. LOL.
Have you tried eating a bunch of fresh peaches? They're loaded with sorbitol, and that gives many of us D.

Angy,
Apparently a lot of the sugarless gums contain sorbitol, or one of the other sugar alcohols, which are just as bad. There are a lot of articles on the web about patients with diarrhea, abdominal pains, and severe weight loss, that was tracked down to chewing significant amounts of gum that contains sorbitol.
Most of the celiac sites also claim that most gum is dusted with wheat flour, or some other gluten-containing powder, to keep it from sticking together, or to wrappers, conveyor belts, etc., but I've never investigated that to verify if it's really true, (or still true).
Thanks for pointing that out. I had forgotten that a lot of gum contains sorbitol.
