Rattle snake!

Post by annie oakley »

Howdy Kids, This proves we can get complacent. Mike and I let the dogs out every evening after we get home so he can take them on thier walk. We sat out by the small barn while the dogs played after their walk. Then I ususally say You guys want a cookie???!! Of course they run for thier yard, I shut the gate, we go in and get cookies (dog cookies)
As I was bringing up the rear I watch Jasmine and Buck Jump and then head for the stairs. There under the gate was a 12 inch long baby rattler. :yikes: and since the small ones are deadlier than the big ones, A large chill went up my back. Mike ran over and showed that snake what a garden hoe looked like as it decended on him/her. :hyper: Anyway I should know better and was so glad that I stopped and looked. I have been known to NOT look and step right over them. anyway a small amt of excitement tonight.
Love Oma

Oma,

You know, it's been a very unusual year here. I haven't seen a single rattler this whole year. Of course, now that I bring it up, I'll probably run into a whole nest of 'em tomorrow, but I hadn't even thought about it, until you mentioned that snake.

You're right though. After we see one, we remember to keep our eyes peeled for a week or two, but before long, we forget all about it, and we eventually get surprised by one. LOL.

Love,
Tex

I would have thought they were all in thier dens by now but we have some really warms days here lately. We got an Inch of rain last night here. Some of that holy water made it's way to the prickly pair.
Most of our Hummers have headed south already. So I suppose winter will soon be here. Got the front door open now, will most likely leave the door open all night. We don't worry much about anyone coming in, they do not want to look down the barrel of either Mikes or my 9mm. :attention: Maybe it's the 22 that is closer I can't remember.

Rain is that wet stuff that falls from the sky everywhere but here. When that squall line moved through here last night, sure enough, it rained everywhere but here - again. <sigh>
