Obesity Caused By Nerve Inflammation?

This research report purportedly shows that low-level inflammation in certain brain message pathways is linked with weight gain. Despite all the sophisticated rhetoric, however, the basis of the research simply verified that overeating, (they call it "over-nutrition"), leads to more overeating, and consequent weight gain. No surprises there.

They did however, apparently determine the mechanism by which this occurs, but since no one is likely to attempt to modify nerve signals in the hypothalamus, just to prevent overeating, this may be of no more than academic interest. The reason I am posting this, however, is because it may be connected in some way with the apparent paradox that many of us face with MC - some of us gain weight, even though we have chronic D. Maybe the inflammation that occurs in the intestines during a "flare" also affects the vagus nerve, and has a similar effect on the hypothalamus. Just thinking out loud, here.
