Post by tamijoy2000 »

In my last topic bout the tiredness and urination. It was mention bout bloating. The odd part is I don't know if I'm really bloated or not. I fill fulliness but that after I eat my food. I was wondering what do I do to get rid of the bloatness if I am bloated?

Thanks

Bloating is a symptom of improper digestion, due to food intolerance. If you are significantly bloated, there won't be any question about it, your belly will be so swollen that it will keep you from sleeping at night, due to the pain and pressure. Usually, it happens because you are unable to pass gas, and so it just keeps building. Not all of us have the problem, though.

For those of us who are bloated, we have to eliminate the problem foods from our diets, in order to resolve the bloating problem.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Tamijoy;

On the large scale, I agree 100% with Tex - before I went GF, I was bloated all the time, and the diet has helped me immensely with that.

However, I have to tell you that whatever it was that aggrivated my gut a couple of weeks ago ("bug", MC or whatever), I was faithful to my GF diet and had not eaten away from home for any reason for weeks. Yet, I was sick, sick, sick and bloated big time!

A couple of things that give me relief would include a warm pack to the abdomen &/or a warm liquid like hot tea. I find that ginger and peppermint teas provide me with some relief.

Also, if you can force yourself to do any type of exercise, that helps the peristalsis, which in turn willl help you pass the gas that is building up (even a slow walk has helped me at times).

So, I say that sticking to the diet is the gold standard. However, until that provides sufficient healing to feel relief or in a time like I just had, I hope these suggestions may help you feel better.

Hi Tamijoy,

Have you tried Gas-X for temporary relief? Works well for me. Carol
