In 2 weeks. GI doc said we would do a colonoscopy with biopsies and an endoscopy with biopsies. The way he talked, he gave me the impression that he expects a positive result for MC. He's only doing the endoscopy because of the gastritis symptoms. He said he thinks that it's related to what we'll find in the colonoscopy, but since I was already asleep may as well do the other end too if I wanted. I figured why not. I'm nervous, but really ready for this test. Any health implications for doing biopsies at both ends at the same time? Do those wounds heal pretty quickly?
I'm unsure about the half-litely prep; my mom had a horrible experience with go-lytley. He said he preferred I use this prep if we suspect MC though because it's less irritating to the colon lining than phosphasoda which my mom prefers. So, I hope that goes well.
Finally doing a colonoscopy!

That sounds good.
Personally, I've never had an "upper", but I believe that other members have had them done at the same session, without any problems.
I believe I've tried every clean-out solution that they recommend, and as far as I could tell, they all suck. LOL. It's probably best to follow his recommendation, because I've read that there is some reason to suspect that certain solutions can skew the results of biopsy samples. It sounds as though he knows what he's doing.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi,
I had both done at the same time recently, 10/1. Upper was done to help rule out Celiac, those biopsies were neg. Lower however showed CC. I got to enjoy the Movi-Prep! I have no idea what the differences are in any of them as they pretty much just clean you out. However I was so cleaned out at that point, due to D, that I only needed 2 cups before my facet ran clean. But you follow Docs orders!
Good Luck ~ it's no big deal, you won't remember a thing!
