Thanks Tex! Surely I'm absorbing something. Without these patches, I'd be up the creek
...in comparison to last spring, my symptoms are still a little better.
Hope you are getting stronger everyday! The kids and I include you in our prayers every morning before going to school. Just want you to know, you are thought of often. You take care!

Thanks Martha,
Yes, I'm getting stronger and doing better each day.

That vitamin mix looks OK except that it doesn't contain enough B-12 to do much good. If you need B-12, you need more B-12 than it contains. If you don't need B-12 then it contains plenty for normal maintenance. It contains plenty B-6 and sufficient folate to match the B-12, IMO. The other vitamins look OK.

Martha
that is very very interesting about the bladder response to B vitamins.
I hope the patch works ok for you!

Tex,
How much B 12 should you get daily? And how do you know if you need it? Should I add it to my blood tests to ask my doctor about?

You don't really need it daily unless you're sure that you're deficient. The liver stores up to 5 year's worth of B-12 normally. If you eat meat you're probably getting more than enough B-12 in your diet. It's a simple test if you want to ask your doctor to check it. Most people don't need supplementation if their digestion is at least half-way decent. Vegans need it because plants don't provide it. But if you want to supplement, a thousand or two mcg daily is fine. B-12 is very safe to take in excess amounts because all B-12 is sent to the liver and any excess is purged in the urine. Any excess won't overwork your liver.
If you're going to take it because of methylation issues though (or suspected methylation issues), take the active form, methylcobalamine
