Turkey and Sweet Potato Burger
Makes 12 adult sized burgers

500g Turkey Mince
500g Chicken Mince
500g Grated Sweet Potato
Rice Flour
Rice Milk
Seasonings of your choice - (Herbs, spring onion, coconut aminos)

1. Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl except for the Rice Flour and Rice Milk.
2. Add approx. 4 tbsp of rice flour 2 tbsp of rice milk (if you are using wet seasonings like Coconut Aminos you will not need the rice milk).
3. Mix all the ingredients together vigorously ensuring that your seasoning and the sweet potato is uniformly mixed through.
4. Take a small piece of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Cook in a medium hot fry pan.
5. Taste your mixture and adjust your seasoning prior to cooking the rest of the mixture.

The mixture is quite wet so it is best cooked in a non stick fry pan. Alternatively, you can form the patties in a piece of cling film and leave them in the fridge for at least an hour to help the mixture firm up.

Notes: You can keep the combined mixture in the fridge overnight, unless you suffer histamine issues.

you are lucky to find turkey mince that is safe!! all the ones i have seen have rosemary extract in it and this has soy. even turkey pieces in supermarkets have flavours and additives.
only ones that are safe are the organic, gluten free ones from health food shop and they are outside of my budget

Hi Gabes - I normally eat Ingham's turkey. I've sent them a request to see what the ingredients are of the Rosemary extract they use. So far, I'm not having an adverse reaction to the turkey that I can get at the local Woolies.

it is the inghams that i react to (and steggles) research previously here showed that there is some soy in the rosemary extract. sadly for me i react worse to soy than gluten.
